Aged Courtyard Walls
I added this picture to give examples of decorating courtyard floors and walls. While the natural flagstone flooring here shows the beauty of real aged hardscape elements, the walls are what I really want to point out in this courtyard. Becoming increasingly popular for decorating gardens, courtyards, and patios, duplicating the aged look on garden walls can influence the entire atmosphere of a garden or landscaping.
It's interesting how a lot of folks will see the aged paint and color of these walls as old and worn but their view of it changes if this look is duplicated in a new courtyard, garden, or patio design with new paint and elements. This mottled blended paint technique is even becoming quite popular in the interior of a lot of the higher end homes that I've visited recently.
