Artificial Flower Plants And Trees
Fake Trees, Plants, And Flowers In Landscaping And Garden
First there was artificial grass lawn turf. Then we started to see fake landscaping rocks in a lot of landscaping. Now my attention is being drawn to artificial plants. The reason being that I've actually been requested to populate a small courtyard with them.
First I'll say that I've never used fake grass, rocks, plants, or anything in any of my designs. So this is an interesting challenge that I look forward to posting here when finished.
Second, while I don't recommend using artificial landscaping plants in most applications, I can see where they might have their place in some small courtyard designs. Such as creating a tropical look in areas where tropical plants won't grow. They also seem to do well in many indoor courtyard and pond areas.
Designing the courtyard with fake garden plants won't be any different than designing with real plantings. The difference is that when I'm through with this landscaping design, instead of heading to the nursery, I'll head to the internet to find plants that look like the ones I picked. You may be able to find them locally.
As natural resources become fewer I expect to see more and more artificial everything in many gardens and landscapes. While I myself do live in an area where there isn't much water adding these types of plants to my own landscaping plans will be up to the individual client more than anything else. So to be quite truthful, I don't expect to be doing many more than this one project. I'll let you know how it goes.
