Do You Know Your Cat?

Many people think that cats act on their own agenda, not paying much attention to their caregiver - given they have clean litter, food, and hydration. Kittens can act out in odd ways from time to time, which can easily amuse their companions and make it somewhat hard to determine what the cat is about. As much as cat mannerisms can be mysterious, there are some ways that you can figure out ordinary cat behavior questions.

A typical action that most cats do is nuzzle their heads into any type of object that will allow them to do it. You've likely have observed your cat do this in the past, most likely against table legs, the corner of the cabinets, or another object. This can be witnessed more when you have other people who own animals or those with allergies, over at your house. When a cat witnessess this, it will carress its head against the visitor. By doing this, it will put a small amount of saliva on the individual. In a cat's mind, it owns what it puts its saliva on.

By putting saliva on something, that object or visitor will have a familiar scent. Even though this can be very gross, you have to consider that other people in your house are seen as odd or weird to your cat. When a cat does this, it is only trying to make the visitor belong. As it nuzzles up against them and puts its saliva on them, it is trying to put his scent on them - which in his mind will mean that they belong in his territory.

Even though marking someone or something with saliva is beneficia to the kitten, saliva is one of the most common forms of pet allergies. the stranger wipes the saliva off of them, the essence will be errased and the cat will go back and attempt to do it again. Even though it may look like that cats target those with allergies, cats are actually just trying to make the guest belong at the home. If the guest simply cannot stand the saliva, allow the cat to rub himself on their pants leg a few times. Normally, this is all takes for a cat to leave the person alone.

Many of you who keep indoor cats should expect the cat will spend quite a bit of time lounging near windows. During this time, you may hear your cat make odd noises or weird movements. You shouldn't sweat it though, as he is simply acting out his hunting instincts. It may be a stranger in the yard, another cat or a squirrel, it is just acting out hunting instincts.

Its not headline news that cats love to play. They especially love to play with toys. They will pounce things on occasion, which should always be expected. If you try to prevent this type of behavior, your cat will take a very negative approach and you will find a lot of broken things in your house. You can always play with your cat using a string, as he will love to chase the string around the room.

The longer you have your feline, the more odd behavior you'll see him exhibit. Cats Cats are unpredictable, although they always have a reason for behaving the way they do. If you can unravel the mystery of why your cat behaves like he does, you'll have no problems keeping him healthy and happy. If you simply pay attention to your cat and the way he behaves at times - you'll be able to understand him better than ever before.
