Raising of many pet birds is done annually for the million-dollar industry. Some of the most preferred birds for business are the foreign birds. Among the numerous breeds of exotic birds, the Macaw, African grey parrots, Finches, Caiques are desirable by bird lovers from all over the global.

Each year thousands of foreign birds are hached and they are being shipped to other countries for selling. It is a shame that when these exotic birds are transported they are kept in a horrified condition where most of them are choked and their survival becomes ambiguous. With human voracity and atrocities, the freedom of these foreign birds is snatched away.

The life expectancy of the exotic birds is not high except a few and they don't even live more than five years. Canaries, budgies, lovebirds and other type of small birds undergoes tremendous pain and suffering while they are being shipped and even in the first year of their birth they die. Thus out of those millions of birds transported every year, only a a couple of land safely to the owners home.

Who can be held responsible for toying with the life of these harmless birds? The dealers and sometimes the customers were to be blamed as they remain ill prepared with natural instincts of the birds like screaming, biting and chewing wooden items. The wild nature and destructive attitude of the birds are considered troubling and thus they are overlooked and ignored.

Few of such incidents about ill treatment of these poor birds include beating and battering, throwing them to basement prisons, and ignorance of even feeding them are shameful and pathetic. The foreign birds suffer from broken bones and internal injuries due to these ill treatments while they are being embarked and before reaching the owners they are at the doorsteps of death.

When the foreign birds are being transported to the owner or in any zoos, even there these poor vertebrates have to suffer pangs of ill treatments. In homes any ill-treatment on dogs and cats are often reported by the neighbors to the pet animal sections. Unlike other pets, the harshness against the exotic birds happens within the internal household areas and it remains far from any human eyes.

When you own an foreign bird, you must know that these vertebrates need an environment which is close to nature and then only they will be able to abstain from their harsh behaviors and rude temperament. The exotic birds don't like to stay captured in small cages because they undergoes emotional disturbances and even serious diseases like obsessive compulsive disorder. Other problems like insanity, severe inhibition, and uncontrolled screaming are also common when they have to compromise in their cage.

Exotic birds are great companions and are lot of fun to be with when they are kept as pets. If you want foreign birds as a pet then you need to realize their natural instincts of being messy and too much noisy. These foreign creatures demands nothing more than tenderness and compassion from human beings and from both dealers and consumers as well.
