Decorative Concrete Garden Path
Again, before we look at the details of this concrete garden path with exposed aggregate, I'll mention the disadvantage of the rough surface of this walkway. For safety and non-slip applications, a rough surface can be excellent for public and home gardens and paths. However, considering your lifestyle and uses of your garden design and landscape, you may want to look at some other options.
Exposed and raised aggregate concrete surfaces are great for decorative concrete landscaping and garden design. Some applications are even good for non-slip safety reasons on paths, walkways, and entertaining areas. However, they can be impractical and uncomfortable for certain groups and functions. You wouldn't want your patio or courtyard garden to have a rough floor if you entertain any groups that may wear high heel shoes. This is just one example. The main point, however, is to think and plan ahead.

While this walkway is a more advanced project, and aside from practicalities, this garden path idea is beautiful and adds so much more to the landscaping plan than plain concrete would do. In more detail, you may also notice the border of the path. Besides creating the form for the concrete, the border also adds another dimension to the design. The planting ideas along the walkway also deserve some attention to the way mass planting is used for simplicity.
