Wood Log Slices
I can't say that these wooden steps are the best choice in materials for a garden path or walkway. Something a little more permanent than wood would be a better choice. Even for a simple borderless path like this one, the amount of planning and work that goes into it shouldn't be something you have to do more than once.
On the other hand, if these steps were petrified wood, they would make a very unique element in garden or landscaping plans. However, finding enough materials for a large walkway could prove to be expensive as well as scarce.
