This photo shows the hot tub and where we placed it closest to the home right outside the master bedroom suite. This gives convenience for easy access and privacy. Surrounded by all the paver work we did in this backyard, the journey to and from the hot tub is always clean and dry even in mid-winter.
Because of its location around water and being filled with water, the hot tub decking we built is redwood. Redwood is naturally preserved and will give many more years of service than regular wood.
While redwood is naturally preserved and will last longer, it still needs to be stained and sealed regularly or it will turn gray.
While most of the plants around this pool are evergreen, there are a few flowering plants that are not. The reason we use mostly evergreen trees and plants around swimming pools is to minimize the amount of fallen debis into the hot tub water and pool as well as give all season interest.
