This lower view of the front yard landscape retaining wall gives a better idea of the actual height and shape of the wall and flower bed. At about twenty inches tall and the large distance of the hill, it's marginal that this slope even needs a retaining wall or terracing.
Still, it looks better, goes with the rest of the landscaping, and will help with the health of the plants. When watering on hillsides and slopes, terracing and creating level planting areas will help the water saturate deeper into the root zone before running off.
