Watering Plants Next To Foundations

With the sidewalk around the side of the home added to the design, this foundation planting area is naturally created. The only consideration is how far out to place the sidewalk which will determine how large the bed area will be.

The watering method for this foundation flower bed and all the flower bed areas is an automated flood bubbler system. Generally, you shouldn't flood irrigate in an area next to the foundation of the home. Pinpoint drip is usually the method. However, this one is a bit different and planned for.

Besides the foundation of this home being enough to handle twice this house, there is also a slope away from the house that has been planned and created all the way around this home. This entire property has been graded from a high point in the back yard, all the way around the home, and off the property for legal disposal.

While this sidewalk appears separate two planting areas now, once all the ground cover is grown in, it will be a pathway through a single bed area.
