Landscaping Lesson From Last Issue
Welcome to another great issue of your landscape design
and gardening newsletter.
To some, this Springtime issue may seem a bit premature. While
I'm aware that much of the country is still feeling the cold
chill of Winter, we're already getting buds on our trees down
here. And with that, lots of folks are already venturing
outdoors to start their landscaping and garden projects.
So, even if it's not Springtime in your area, it will be soon.
Just keep this info under your hat until you need it.
Let's get going.
Steve Boulden,

Landscaping Lesson - Contemporary Mediterranean Landscaping
=========================================
The Mediterranean design in this lesson offers some good
evidence that simple can be beautiful. Besides being simple,
the design has some very unique and creative qualities.

Weening Your Seedlings - Hardening Off
=========================================
While most seasoned gardeners are probably familiar with the
term "hardening off", I'm sure there are quite a few readers
here that may not be.
As I explain the simple steps and reasons behind "hardening
off", I'll also point out some interesting facts about it. So
even if you already know all about it, you might still learn
something new. Read the article at:

New Landscaping Pictures Gallery
========================================
Over the last few months I've noticed several new sites popping
up that are actually s-e-l-l-i-n-g galleries of landscaping
pictures. While some have a few decent images in their galleries,
most don't compare with even my little gallery of pictures.
As I looked into it I discovered some of their sources which
are practically giving these photos away. So I got several
thousand of them and posted them on my site where they are
f-r-e-e for you to look at and get ideas from.
So in addition to the original landscaping pictures gallery at:
Landscaping Pictures ,
we have a new gallery of different sorts at:

Enjoy

Stake Your Newly Planted Trees
=========================================
While Fall is the best time to plant B&B Bareroot trees,
Springtime is second best. And even though this is a good time
to plant, special care needs to be taken due to the way these
trees are dug and high Spring winds.

New Service - Find A Designer In Your Area
========================================
While The Landscape Design Site does a pretty good job of
helping folks design and install their own landscaping ideas projects,
some people will still end up needing the help of a
professional. If not for their entire project, for certain parts
of it.
While there are several reasons why you might need the help of a
professional, finding a good one with a good reputation is often
more difficult than it should be.
So I've added a form to the site that will put you in contact
with a pre-screened reputable company in your own area. There's
no cost or obligation. Who knows. Using a professional may be
less than you think. You can find the form at:
Landscape Contractors And Designers

Soil PH And Pink Flowers
=========================================
Proper soil PH (acidity / alkalinity) is necessary for the
proper nutrient uptake of plants. While most garden plants do
well in a neutral soil, some require more acid or more alkaline
to grow optimally.
In this article I'll give an example of the effects of improper
PH while at the same time showing you how some gardeners alter
the PH of their soil to make some of their naturally blue
flowers turn pink.
