The Native Plant Society of New Mexico - The purpose of the Native Plant Society of New Mexico (NPSNM) is to educate New Mexicans on native plant identification, ecology, and uses; encourage preservation of natural habitats; support botanical research; and promote use of native plants for conservation of water, land, and wildlife. To this end, this site offers links to a variety of information from the society, including membership information, state meetings, and landscaping pictures. If you are a New Mexican who is interested in the art of native landscape or garden design, then you're sure to find some useful resources available to you.

The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center - This site offers a searchable database of New Mexico native plants. Within individual plant pages, you will find such information as plant characteristics, bloom information, and growing conditions. For any of you do-it-yourself landscaping and garden design people out there, this site is a must for you.

The Xeriscape Council of New Mexico - On this site, you can find a variety of information about xeriscaping in New Mexico. Here, you will find topics such as the principles of xeriscaping, xeriscaping references & reading, as well as xeriscape gardens to visit.

Roadside Use of Native Plants/Plant and Resource Lists - This site, created by the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration, presents a simple list of native plant species found in the state of New Mexico. Seperated by plant types, such as cacti, ferns, and grasses, it is a perfect resource to find-out what plants are considered native to the region as well as learn the names of federally listed endangered plant species. At the end of the page, you will also find contact information for a variety of state-based resources available to assist you in your projects.

USDA Plants Database - The USDA Plants Database offers a searchable database of plants native to New Mexico. Here, you can find lists of plants by their scientific and common names. Within individual plant pages, you will discover a variety of facts about the plant of your choice to help you in your large or small garden plans, including a distribution map, the plant's classification, and several pictures showing how the plant appears in the wild.

New Mexico Office of the State Engineer/The Enchanted Xeriscape - The Enchanted Xeriscape is an information packet designed and published by the Office of the State Engineer of New Mexico. On this page, you will find great home landscaping ideas for creating your very own xeriscape. From initial planning and design to the proper maintenance of a xeriscape, you'll discover all the information you need to make a xeriscaped garden or landscape of your own.
