Most often, terrace and balcony patios are limited on space. For some folks, it's enough to simply have just enough space to go outside, sit, and enjoy the weather. For others, no matter how little space, there has to be more in the way of plants, garden decoration, furniture, patio fountains, and other accents.

To get the best out of what little space you have without becoming cluttered and busy, follow along a few guidelines and rules of small gardens and keep elements to a few and within the same theme.
