Almost Tropical Landscaping
While in most cases the type of garden plants you use will help determine and define the style or theme of a garden or landscape, it may not be enough in some instances. This front yard landscape is a good example of that. With the majority of the landscaping and planting scheme being a traditional evergreen nature, a single display of palm trees looks more out of place than tropical.
Another reason the palm trees look out of place is because of the lack of balance and proportion. While the height and proportion issue would still be an issue in this front garden plan, it would be a better balance with a matching display to the left. Two or more of the same repeated throughout the landscape will help an element become more dominant in the design. Just one and you have an odd ball.
