Xeriscaping ideas that duplicate a desert scene

A lot of xeriscaping plans try to duplicate or represent the way the natural desert looks. Dry riverbeds and arroyos are a common sight in the desert which is why river bed replicas like this one have found their way as common in Southwest yards, desert landscapes, Santa Fe, and Arizona landscape designs.

Simple to make, most dry riverbeds like this one are simply created for show, interest, and curb appeal. A little harder to make, some are actually created for drainage and water harvesting.
