Most often, forest landscapes offer plenty of native rocks to use for creting steps, stairs, rock retaining walls, and other hardscapes. And a lot of times, they work naturally just the way they are with possibly a little manipulation. Still, even if you have to move the rocks around a bit, native elements should be less expensive and keep the atmosphere as near natural as possible.
