I'll say it again. Landscaping plants alone can often create the entire theme and atmosphere of landscaping and garden design. Besides the style of this home which is Mediterranean, what is it about this landscape that might make you say it is Mediterranean or tropical? The few Palm trees alone could do that.
Along with the Palm trees, the masses of red flowers are helping create unity and continuity throughout the landscape. A repeated element such as a plant color or decorative boulders placed in different areas throughout a landscaping plan will help tie different areas of the landscape together into one unit.
