In most garden plans that include floor areas, the flooring is often considered as a base hardscape with little purpose other than a place to stand or walk. Beyond color and material choice, it is an area where cost determines the extent of design. And while it is a good area to consider for cutting cost, keep in mind that there are many decorative options that look a lot better than just plain concrete.
