Tropical Swimming Pool Planting Idea

This is a really nice idea for landscaping around a pool with a tropical atmosphere. While it does look a little complicated and busy, it's actually quite a simple plating idea with only a few varieties of plants repeated throughout the landscaping. Also notice that there are no flowering plants with petals to fall into the pool.

The rest of the landscaping is also quite simple with the other major elements being repeated as well. This creates continuity, balance, and harmony. Of course, this isn't just principles for around pools. It applies to all types of landscaping and garden design.

Larger gravel is used in the flower beds so as to not be blown or washed into the pool easily. The lawn area has a good distance of separation from the edge of the pool as well. This is not only a beautiful design, but also well thought out as far as design and maintenance.
